Liventhrel's Tower

~294 words · 1 min read

The tower is said to be cursed and that a woman's ghost haunts its floors.

It once belonged to the mage Liventhrel and now functions as a minor post tower for the town, even though the people scarcely use it, due to the superstition.

It is currently headed by Johnathan Pinewood as part of his apprenticeship.

💬Description

The tower once entered is a single dark room. There is a bit of sunlight that enters through the cracked window to the side. To the right there is a wall that separates the main chamber from the staircase leading to the floor above, though you do not see to what they lead.

In front of you there is a counter made of old red brick, chipped in many places, with a dark wood countertop, dried and stained. There are numerous towers of books flanking it on either side, each a different color, stacked with no discernible pattern or rule.

On the back wall you see large double doors, made of the same wood as the countertop, with a large lock on the handles.

At the counter you see a young man with messy brown hair, lost in a large and heavy tome. He looks up at you for a second before looking back down towards the writings, then once again up at you. You notice that one of his eyes is milky white...

💡Important

The upper floors are haunted, though Johnathan has not seen or heard anything. He once went up there to fetch some old documents and thought he heard someone speak but the tower is old and it could've been the wind howling and whisteling.

It is the ghost of Lady Liventhrel, the wizard that once owned the tower. She simply wishes to be left alone.
